Our mission is to help manufacturers to realize their potential and to compete effectively in the global market. We plan to do this by supporting manufacturers as they adopt and integrate advanced technology and processes into their operations and by helping to develop a highly skilled workforce by inspiring and developing the next generation of manufacturing employees.
Strategy
The manufacturing industry is experiencing a shortage of skilled labour that is projected to worsen over the next 10 to 15 years. Fewer employees are entering the industry than will be retiring. Labour shortages drive up the cost of labour as more manufacturers compete for fewer skilled employees. Manufacturers must improve their processes and become more efficient in order to remain competitive.
